Engraved Belgian Browning Broadway Pigeon Trap Superposed Shotgun - Serial no. 56842S8, 12 gauge, 30 inch vent rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in Belgium in 1968. Double bead sights on the wide matte vent rib, 2 3/4 inch chambers, choked full/improved modified with ejectors. The receiver, trigger guard and break lever are engraved with fine scroll patterns as well as rose bouquets on the sides and bottom of the receiver and two pigeons in flight on each side. There is a leaf design decorating the upper edge of the receiver. Blue barrels with standard markings, and the remaining parts are coin finished. Gold washed single trigger with a shoe installed, tang mounted safety/selector and mounted with high gloss, extra fancy walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a vented Browning recoil pad. Length of pull is 14 3/8 inches. CONDITION: Excellent. The barrels retain 99% original finish with some thinning on the lower barrel from sliding the forearm forward while breaking it down, otherwise only light handling marks. The remaining metal retains 98% original coin finish with some minor wear on the trigger guard tang. The wood is excellent retaining most of the original high gloss finish and showing a couple of nicks on the bottom of the stock and light handling marks overall. The checkering remains crisp. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500

CONDITION: Near new with only light handling marks and some small scratches on the wood. Mechanically excellent. Case is excellent. Box is very good with corner and edge wear. Estimate: 4,000 - 5,500

Factory Master Engraved VanLaar Signed Belgian Browning Grade III Superposed Shotgun - Serial no. 71081, 12 gauge, 28 inch vent rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1959. Dual white bead sights on the matted vent rib, standard Browning markings, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and chokes marked “**”/”*” (modified/full). The coin finished receiver is engraved with beautiful floral scrollwork surrounding finely detailed game bird scenes of pheasants on the right, a pair of fighting gamecocks on the left with a trio in the background, and a spaniel with a pheasant on the underside. Both the right and left sides are signed “VANLAAR” beneath the game scenes. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forearm with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with a vented White Line recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .728/.730 inches; choke constriction .022/.036
inches; minimum wall thickness .036/.034 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 5/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 7 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original blue on the barrels with a few spots of thinning, some areas of oil discoloration on the receiver, and minor handling evidence. The wood is also excellent with a few tiny
marks and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 5,000

Engraved and Gold Inlaid N. Hermsen Signed Pre-World War II Belgian Browning Superposed Shotgun - Serial no. 6824, 12 gauge, 26 inch vent rib bbl., blue/grey/gold finish, walnut stock. Manufactured between 1931 and 1939. Dual white bead sights on the matted vent rib, standard Browning barrel markings, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and chokes marked “**-”/”**-” (improved cylinder/improved cylinder). The grey finished action features beautiful leafy scroll engraving and gold inlaid borders around multiple game scenes. The left features a pair of quail fleeing a dog in a field, a solitary quail on the underside, a dog on point in a field on the right, and a bust of a dog on the trigger guard. The left side is signed “N.HERMSEN 9/81” at the lower edge. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and straight grip stock with Browning recoil pad. Stock measurements: 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 14 1/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 1 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally embellished, retaining 99% reapplied blue and grey finishes, some oil discoloration on the right side of the action, and
also very fine with a few minor marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
