Single bead sight on the b
7 1/2 inch wedges of punch dot backed scroll engraving on each side of the breech. The receiver and trigger
guard show near full coverage of fine engraving, which includes hand-engraved serial number with a “V” above it. The left shows a brace of pointers flanked by a wood cock and ruffled grouse game scene on the left and right respectively. The right has a pair of mallards and a scene of a wood cock and ruffled grouse, and a dog’s head on the trigger guard. Highly figured, multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with hard rubber Remington grip cap and buttplate and “S.S.W.” inscription oval for General Samuel Sims Walker. General Walker was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, he was, at the time, the youngest Four-Star General, and retired as Commanding General, Allied Land Forces South East Europe. Stock measurements: 1 3/4 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 1/2 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs 9 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue with minor handling evidence. The wood is very good with scattered dings and scratches, a few tiny chips at the edges, and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: General Samuel Sims Walker. Estimate: 4,000 - 6,000
here is the D grade of the Model 8 as it features approximately 1/4 coverage of fine scroll engraving as well as zig zag line borders on the receiver. Additional engraving appears on the barrel at the breech, magazine and trigger guard. The serial
number is engraved on the underside of the frame. The rifle is fitted with a combination Beach front sight, an elevation adjustable rear sight and a M.S.A.
tang sight. The nicely figured walnut forearm and straight grip stock are checkered. The buttstock is fitted with a hard rubber Remington buttplate. According to the
consignor, this rifle was owned by his grandfather, a Midwest doctor whose office was across the street from a local bank and if the need arose he was tasked to lean
out his office window to shoot at bank robbers in the 1930s.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 60% original blue finish with thinning to a brown on the balance along with some spotting mostly on the barrel. The engraving is crisp.
The wood is also fine with a number of minor scratches, a plugged sling swivel hole on the buttstock underside and a few blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,500 - 5,500

Attractive Game Scene Engraved and Gold Inlaid Remington Model 742 Semi-Automatic Carbine - Serial no. 7107593, 30-06 Springfield cal., 19 inch round bbl., blue/gold finish, walnut stock. Manufactured as a stand Model 742 Carbine and subsequently beautifully upgraded to the current configuration. Ramped, beaded blade front sight with elevation adjustable rear sight, standard Remington markings, and a 7 inch wedge of floral scroll engraving at the breech. The action displays extensive floral scroll engraving with gold borders on the sides and gold inlaid and bordered game scenes and is simply signed “H” on the right game scene. The left shows two separate scenes of bugling elk in forest settings and the right has a pair of bucks running through the forest. The engraving extends to the trigger guard bordering the initial “JFG” as well as the magazine, scope base, and scope rings. Nicely figured, fancy checkered forend and pistol grip stock with cheek piece and Whiteline recoil pad. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally embellished, retaining 99% blue and gold finishes, minor handling evidence, slightly loose recoil pad, and sharp checkering on the forend and stock.
