Scarce Documented Parker Brothers .410 Bore VH Grade Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 225800, 410 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1928 on the desirable 000 frame. Blued steel barrels with single steel bead front sight on the matted, concave solid rib which is marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. VULCAN. STEEL.”, 2 1/2 inch chambers with single extractor, and choke constrictions of .010/.009 inches (modified/modified). The case hardened action displays the standard light zig-zag border engraving with “PARKER BROS” marked on either side. Nicely
figured, multi-point checkered, splinter forend with engraved fittings and Deeley latch release along with the round knob pistol grip stock with blank inscription shield and reproduction dog’s head buttplate. The above configuration is confirmed on page 564 of “Parker Gun Identification and Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. According to the chart on page 258 of “The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote, only 463 guns were ever built with this combination of barrel length and gauge, making this quite a rare gun. Stock measurements: 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 2 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 97% original blue on the barrels, 50% original case colors, some scattered minor spotting, some oxidation on the action, and mild handling evidence. The trigger guard and forend iron retain 99% of their reapplied finishes. The replacement wood is also very fine with a few minor marks and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 14,000 - 22,500

Desirable Documented Parker Brothers 28 Gauge VH Grade Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 128012, 28 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1904 on the desirable “0” small frame, a very rare combination of frame size and gauge. Blued barrels with single steel bead sight on the matte concave rib marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CONN. VULCAN STEEL” with 2 1/2 inch chambers with single extractor, and standard markings on the flats. Casehardened boxlock action, double
triggers, and automatic tang safety. Light zig-zag border around the receiver on all sides. Multi-point checkered splinter forend
with Deeley latch release and pistol grip stock with Parker grip cap, blank inscription shield, and dog’s head buttplate. The above configuration is confirmed
on page 372 of “Parker Gun Identification and Serialization” by Price and Fjestad and according to page 258 of “The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote, this as one of only 772 produced in this configuration. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .553/.554; choke constriction .019/.018 inches; minimum wall thickness .029/.028 inches; 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 7/8 inch drop at heel; 14 3/16 inch length of pull; cast-on; weight 5 lbs 14 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% reblued finish on the barrels with 50% on the trigger guard, 20% original case colors with the balance an attractive silver patina, scattered light spotting, and mild handling evidence. The wood is very good with some dings and scratches concentrated at the toe and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
