Very Fine World War I U.S. Colt
Model 1911 Semi-Automatic
Pistol - Serial no. 166287, 45 ACP
cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish,
walnut grips. Manufactured in 1917
and shipped to Springfield Armory on 6 July 1917, well before
the end of World War I. The left of the slide is marked with the
two-line, two-block patent dates and address with the Rampant
Colt behind the serrations, while the right has the standard “MODEL OF 1911
U.S. ARMY” marking. The left of the frame has the U.S. property marking and “GHS” inspection mark and the serial number is on the left. The full blued barrel
is marked “5” on the bottom and “P” on the lug. Fitted with blade and notch sights, wide checkered hammer, long smooth trigger, short grip safety, diamond pattern checkered grips, and an unmarked two-tone magazine with lanyard loop base. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the original brushed blue
finish with some light edge wear and some faint thinning to a grey patina on the grip straps and top of the slide. The grips are also very fine with a few light handling marks and a light chip near the upper left screw. Mechanically excellent.

Exceptional U.S. World War
II Remington-Rand Model
1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol
- Serial no. 1603520, 45 ACP cal.,
5 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, plastic grips. Manufactured
in 1944. The left of the slide has the two-line Remington-Rand
address, “P” proof on top, and the frame is marked with the
standard U.S. property and army nomenclature on the right with the serial
number while the left has an “FJA” inspection mark and “P” proof. Fitted with
blade and notch sights, checkered narrow hammer, long grip safety, arched
serrated mainspring housing, full blue barrel with “P” and “HS” lug, reinforced grips, and parkerized “R” magazine.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% plus of the original parkerized finish with thinning on the front grip strap and a few scattered light handling/takedown marks. The grips are also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and
crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

U.S. Remington-U.M.C./Colt
Model 1911 Semi-Automatic
Pistol with D.C.M. Bill of Sale
and Case - Serial no. 1392, 45 ACP
cal., 5 inch round bbl., parkerized
finish, walnut grips. Frame manufactured in early
1912 by Remington-U.M.C. and fitted with a Colt slide during
arsenal overhaul. It has standard U.S. markings as well as “E.E.C.”
inspector initials an “AA” arsenal refurbishment mark on the left of
the frame and the serial number on the right. Fitted with blade and notch sights, wide checkered hammer, flat smooth mainspring housing with lanyard loop, long smooth trigger, and an “L” marked full blue magazine. Includes the N.R.A. D.C.M. bill of sale and a Colt marked hardwood case.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 98% of the arsenal applied parkerized finish with some minor handling marks visible under the finish and otherwise only the slightest wear. The grips are excellent with only the slightest handling
marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The
case is fine with some minor handling/storage marks.

Scarce U.S. Colt Transitional Model
1911/1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial
no. 705116, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue
finish, walnut grips. Starting in September of
1920, the Ordnance Board began to make suggestions for
modifications to the Model 1911 pistol based on experience from World War I,
and by April of 1923 OCM Item 2890 was standardized and recommended by the
department. A pilot series of 10,000 pistols was approved with some production
issues arising throughout 1923, but by January 1924 the first “Improved Models” were being
delivered and were also known as the Transitional Model 1911s. This example was shipped on 5
June 1924 to Springfield Armory. While they retained the nomenclature markings of the 1911, they
were equipped with the signature features of the 1911A1 which included the dished frame sides,
shortened trigger, elongated grip safety, and arched mainspring housing. Fitted with round blade
front and flat top notch rear sights, with the two-line, two-block address and patent markings divided
by the Rampant Colt logo on the left side of the slide, “MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY”
on the right, and “H” above the firing pin stop plate. The frame bears the circular
Walter Gordon “WTG” inspection stamp, with the short milled checkered trigger,
wide checkered hammer, long grip safety, checkered mainspring housing with
lanyard loop, replacement full blue “N/G” marked barrel with “P” on the lug, and
an unmarked two-tone magazine.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% of the original blue finish with the front grip
strap having an artificially enhanced grey patina. The grips are fine with a few scattered minor blemishes in the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Outstanding Scarce World War II U.S. Colt
Model 1911A1 Commercial/Military Semi-
Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 862692, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., parkerized
finish, plastic grips. This pistol was originally manufactured in 1941-1942 as
a Commercial Government Model, but before leaving the Colt factory was
transferred to Colt’s war time contract. It is one of 6,575 unsold Commercial Government
Model frames that were transferred and in late-1942 to early-1943 that had the Government
Model markings and serial number crudely removed and replaced with the standard military nomenclature. They were then serialized in the 860003-867000 serial range, assembled, and finished to fill the government orders. It has standard markings and features of these Commercial/Military models including “G.H.D.” inspection and “P” proof marks, “G” marked full blue barrel, and a full blue “S” marked magazine.
CONDITION: Very fine as factory renumbered and parkerized for military contract,
retains 95% plus of the parkerized finish with some light edge wear and some
scattered light handling/takedown marks. The grips are excellent with only the
slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no.
1632841, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., parkerized
finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1944, during
the height of World War II. The left side of the slide is marked with the two-line/
two-block address separated by the Rampant Colt, “G.H.D.” inspected frame
with “P/VP” proof, matching “P” proofs on the frame and slide, and standard U.S.
property and army nomenclature on the right of the frame. Fitted with blade and notch sights, checkered slide catch, thumb safety, and narrow hammer, long grip safety, and arched serrated mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Fitted with a full blue “S” marked magazine, full blue barrel with “P” and “HS” on the lug, and reinforced checkered grips.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% plus of the original parkerized finish with some scattered very
light edge wear and handling marks. The grips are also
excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp
checkering. Mechanically excellent.
