Marked Norwegian Kongsberg Model 1914 Semi-
Automatic Pistol Serial Number 42 with Factory Letter
- Serial no. 42, 11.25 mm cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood grips. The Norwegian Kongsberg Model 1914 was a slightly modified copy of the U.S. Model 1911 pistol used by the Norwegian Army. These pistols are nearly identical to
the Colt Model 1911. This Model 1914 features an undated slide. The left side of
the slide is marked with the later model 1914 caliber, model, and two digit serial number marking with “SVA” above. This pistol was manufactured by Skole Og Verkstedavdelingen Army Ordnance Technical School as a training exercise for their armorers in the 1950s. It is one of fifty produced by SVA. Matching serial numbers found on frame, slide, trigger, mainspring housing, and grip safety. Includes informational plaque and factory letter giving information about the pistol as well. This pistol is listed by serial number in “Kongsberg-Colten” by Karl Egil Hanevik on page 148. It is also photographed on page 140 of the same book.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 95% original blue finish with some minor scattered handling marks. The grips are also excellent with sharp checkering and only the slightest amount of finish loss on the right grip. Mechanically excellent.

“1945” Dated Norwegian Kongsberg Model 1914 Semi-
Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 30950, 11.25 mm cal., 5 inch
round bbl., phosphate finish, hardwood grips. The Norwegian
Kongsberg Model 1914 was a slightly modified copy of the U.S.
Model 1911 pistol used by the Norwegian army. These pistols are nearly
identical to the Colt Model 1911. This Model 1914 features a slide dated “1945” on
the right side. The left side of the slide is marked with the later model 1914 caliber, model, and serial number marking with the Kongsberg Crest and monogram of King Haakon. Inspection mark behind the rear sight and below the date. Matching serial numbers found on frame, slide, trigger, safety, mainspring housing, grip safety, barrel, and slide release. Includes one extra magazine.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 85% plus original dark phosphate finish with scattered handling marks. Grips are fine with softened checkering and a few scattered dings. Mechanically excellent.

hardwood grips. The Norwegian
Kongsberg Model 1914 was a
slightly modified copy of the U.S.
Model 1911 pistol used by the
Norwegian army. These pistols are
nearly identical to the Colt Model
1911. This Model 1914 features a
slide dated “1945” on the right side.
The left side of the slide is marked
with the later model 1914 caliber,
model, and serial number marking with the
Kongsberg Crest and “WaA84”. Matching serial
numbers found on frame, slide, trigger, safety,
mainspring housing, grip safety, and slide
release. The barrel is an unmarked replacement with a tight
fit. This pistol is pictured on page 118 of Karl Egil Hanevik’s “KONGSBERG-COLTEN” book.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 85% plus original phosphate finish with scattered handling marks. The grips are also very fine with a few dings and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Model 1914 Semi-Automatic Pistol Dated
“1918” - Serial no. 132, 11.25 mm cal., 5 inch round
bbl., phosphate finish, hardwood grips. The Norwegian Kongsberg
Model 1914 was a slightly modified copy of the U.S. Model 1911 pistol
used by the Norwegian army. This Model 1914 features a slide dated
“1918” on the right side. The left side of the slide is marked with the
caliber, model, and serial number marking with the monogram of King Haakon and the Kongsberg Crest. Inspection mark below the date. Matching serial numbers found on slide, frame, trigger, slide stop, mainspring housing, grip safety, ejector, magazine catch, barrel, recoil spring guide, and recoil spring plunger.
CONDITION: Fine as arsenal refurbished, retaining most of the dull phosphate
finish with some minor handling marks. Grips are good with replacement
screws, dings and chips in both panels around the bottom screw as well as softened checkering. Mechanically excellent.
