Exceptional Winchester Model 61 Slide Action Rifle in Scarce .22 LR for Shot Only Caliber with Box - Serial no. 249991, 22 LR Shot cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1957. Single nickel bead sight, Winchester counterbored smooth bore barrel, second style barrel inscription, Winchester “WP” proofs on barrel and receiver
at the breech, matching numbers on the receiver and trigger guard assembly, factory grooved receiver top for scope mounting, serrated trigger and hammer catch, and non- drilled upper tang. 17 groove slide handle and smooth
pistol grip stock with checkered blue steel buttplate.
Includes original box and hang tag. Both the box label and
tag are marked “SPECIAL” in black ink.
CONDITION: Excellent with 98% bright original blue finish, some mild slide retraction marks on the barrel and slide
bar, and a few scattered light handling marks. The wood is also excellent with some small dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good with clear end label and
corner and edge wear.
Estimate: 5,000 - 8,000

CONDITION: Very fine with 85% blue, with the slightest touch up at the muzzle. The wood is also very fine with scattered small dings and some larger dents and bruises. Mechanically excellent.

Winchester Model 61 Slide Action Rifle in
Very Scarce .22 LR Only - Serial no. 154184, 22 LR cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock.
Manufactured in 1951. Beaded blade front and elevation adjustable rear notch sights, second style barrel inscription,
“22 L. RIFLE” marking, Winchester “WP” proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, serrated trigger and hammer
lock, matching serial numbers on the round top receiver and trigger guard assembly, and correct non-drilled upper tang. 17 groove slide handle and smooth pistol grip stock with checkered blue steel buttplate.
CONDITION: Excellent with 97% blue finish remaining, some light slide retraction marks, small surface scratches, and small handling marks. The wood is very fine with some scratches, small dings, and chipped finish. Mechanically excellent.

Phenomenal Winchester Model 61 Slide Action
Rifle in Desirable .22 WMR - Serial no. 284516, 22 WMR cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. The Model 61 was developed by Winchester in an attempt to keep pace with its competitor’s hammerless .22 rifles. Model 61s were produced from 1932 to 1963. This variation
(Magnum) was only produced from 1960 to 1963 with this example manufactured in 1960. Dovetailed, Lyman beaded blade
front and elevation adjustable rear notch sights, Winchester “WP” proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, grooved receiver top for scope mounting, and serrated trigger and hammer catch. The barrel features a very unique non-standard type 3 inscription with the caliber listed as “22 W.M.R.F.” A strikingly similar example of this inscription is pictured on page 56 of “Winchester Slide Action Rifles: Volume II” by Ned Schwing. Perhaps just as interesting is that the serial number listed in the book is 284,XXX
with the last three digits intentionally redacted. 17 groove slide handle and smooth pistol grip stock with checkered composite Winchester buttplate.
CONDITION: Excellent with 97% plus original blue finish, crisp barrel markings, and some light handling and cycling marks. The wood is also excellent with just a few small scattered dings. Mechanically excellent.
