Exceptional ATF Exempted Winchester
Model 1894 Lever Action Saddle Ring Trapper’s Carbine with Desirable
15 Inch Barrel with ATF and John Fox Authentication Letters - Serial no.
1086164, 30 WCF cal., 15 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured
in 1932 with standard markings including Winchester factory oval proofs on the
barrel and receiver at the breech. Fitted with pinned blade front and elevation
adjustable notch rear sights. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip
stock with a carbine buttplate. Includes letters from John Fox, the Northwestern
National Military Museum & Foundation, and John J. Malloy, all describing the carbine
as in its exceptional original configuration. Also includes a 2010 dated letter from the ATF
stating that the carbine has been deemed a Curio & Relic and removed from the provisions of
the NFA. This carbine is listed by serial number by the BATFE as exempt from the National Firearms Act and classified as a “curio or relic” in the “Curios or Relics List.”
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% plus of the original blue finish with the balance thinning to a smooth brown or grey patina, primarily on the left side of the receiver and buttplate. The wood is fine with some scattered minor dings and vertical scratches. Mechanically excellent.
