Excellent Cased Colt Model 1855 Sidehammer Pocket Percussion Revolver - Serial no. 15487, 28 cal., 3 1/2 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1857 as a Model Number 2. The barrel has the Hartford address with pointing hand motif. The cylinder has the Cabin and Indian scene. Matching serial numbers are on the butt, barrel
and cylinder. Wearing a nicely figured varnished walnut grip. The original mahogany Colt case is lined in burgundy velvet and contains a brass double cavity bullet mold marked “COLTS/PATENT” on the sprue cutter, double sided eagle powder flask, later production “L” shaped combination tool for an automatic pistol and an Eley Bros. cap tin. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 90% plus original bright high polish blue finish with a few patches of flaking turned brown. Nearly all of the cylinder scene remains. The grip is also excellent with a small surface chip along the bottom edge, limited handling marks and nearly all of the original varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with a stress crack at the lock, minor handling/storage marks and typical high spot wear on the faded lining. The flask retains 98% original finish and the original brass bullet mold is excellent. A highly attractive cased Colt Model
