Very Fine Sharps & Hankins Model 3B Four-Barrel Pepperbox Pistol with Sharps marked Box - Serial no. 11722, 32 RF cal.,
3 1/2 inch fluted bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut grips. Manufactured between 1859 and 1874. Blade and notch sights with “ADDRESS SHARPS & HANKINS, PHILADELPHIA, PENN.” in the flute on top of the barrel. The right side of the frame is marked “C. SHARPS PATENT/JAN. 25, 1859”. This model was made without the side plate or extractor. The firing pin is mounted on the hammer, and there is an interlock between the hammer and the barrel release to keep the pistol from opening or closing unless the hammer is on half cock. Smooth trigger, checkered hammer and barrel release, and fitted with smooth walnut flared butt grips. Includes a factory box with Sharps & Hankins markings inside the lid.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% of the bright original blue finish on the barrels and 25% of the original case colors on the frame with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina and a few scattered patches of light surface pitting. The grips are fine with some scattered minor handling marks and flaking of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The box is good with moderate wear and some tears and absent sections on lid.

Fine C. Sharps & Co. Model 1A Pepperbox Pistol - Serial no. 56881, 22 RF cal., 2 1/2 inch fluted bbl., blue/silver finish, gutta percha grips. Manufactured 1859 to 1874. The C. Sharps & Co. Philadelphia address is marked on the
right, and the 1850 patent date is on the left, both is circular format, and the serial number is marked on the butt. It is fitted with a pair of floral pattern gutta percha grips.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 30% of the original blue on the barrels with the balance mostly a smooth grey patina and 75% plus of the original silver which shows an attractive antique patina. The grips are also fine, showing slight
variation in color between the two panels and minimal handling evidence. Mechanically excellent.

Etched Manufacture Française d’Armes de St. Etienne Mitrailleuse Palm Pistol - Serial
no. 3326, 8 mm cal., 2 inch solid rib bbl., nickel finish, hard rubber grips. The Mitrailleuse pistols (from “Grapeshot”) were manufactured by Manufacture Française d’Armes de Saint-Étienne
in the 1890s before being renamed Le Gaulois (native people of France as in the Gauls) in approximately 1897. The renamed model was manufactured until the second decade of the
20th century. The right side of the frame is marked “MANUFACTURE FRANCAISE/D’ARMES DE ST ETIENNE”, and the left side has a three position selector switch with French markings.
“MITRAILLEUSE” is marked on top of the barrel rib followed by a serrated dust cover. It has an etched pattern on the frame sides, serrations on the front, and a checkered panel of mottled red/black hard rubber numbered “3326” is on the casehardened operating bar. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel, underside of the side plate, and on the inside of the action. The grip extension is numbered “45.55”.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 90% plus of the original nickel finish with a few scattered patches of minor flaking and crisp etching. The grip is fine with a minor chip absent from the bottom and otherwise minimal handling evidence. Mechanically fine.

Exceptional Chicago Firearms Co. Protector Palm Pistol - Serial no. 6124, 32 XSRF cal., 1 3/4 inch round bbl., nickel finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in the 1890s, this example has a band of floral engraving
on the barrel and additional engraving designs around the outside of
the frame on the right side which is also marked “THE PROTECTOR/PAT. MCH.6.83.AUG.29.93.” in a circle at the center. The left side plate is checkered around the border with “CHICAGO FIRE ARMS CO./CHICAGO, ILL.” in a circle at the center. The left side plate twists off to reveal the magazine which is numbered “6124”, which matches the inside of the frame and side plate. The pistol has checkered hard rubber side panels and grip.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% plus of the unpolished original
nickel finish with a few scattered minor scratches. The grips are very
fine with some slight age discoloration, minimal wear, and crisp
checkering. Mechanically excellent.
