Bliss & Goodyear Pocket Model Percussion Revolver with Box - Serial no. 1926, 28 cal., 3 inch octagon bbl., blue finish. One of approximately 3,000 manufactured circa 1860. Standard Bliss & Goodyear barrel address and matching serial numbers on the bottom of the barrel, right of the
grip frame, and inside both
grips in pencil. Includes an unnumbered Bliss & Goodyear factory box, Hicks cap tin, unmarked powder flask, and dual cavity bullet mold.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 50%
of the original blue finish with
the balance having thinned to a
smooth grey patina with some
scattered patches of light pitting.
The grips are also fine with some
scattered light handling marks.
Mechanically excellent. The box
is fine with some mild wear and
a couple separated corners.

Very Scarce, Engraved
Remington-Beals 3rd Model
Pocket Percussion Revolver with
Box - Serial no. 148, 31 cal., 4 inch
octagon bbl., blue finish, hard rubber
grips. Only an estimated 1,000 of
these 3rd Models were manufactured
from 1859 to 1860. This example has
a period broad floral scroll engraving
decorating the sides of the frame.
The cylinder has an etched scroll
motif. The top barrel flat has the
standard two line Beals patent dates
(56, 57, 58) over the Remington
address marking. The back of the
left grip panel is hand marked “Dr
FW Johnson/Gresham/Wisconsin,”
and the back of the right grip panel
is hand marked “F.V.J./Aug/1968.”
Both grip panels and barrel are
numbered to the gun. Includes
a period partitioned cardboard
box containing a double sided
Remington eagle powder flask and
brass two cavity bullet model.
CONDITION: Very good. The metal
surfaces have a bright polished
appearance with flash type pitting,
worn etching, and crisp engraving.
The grips are fine with some softened checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with repaired edges on the lid. The flask and bullet mold are fine with an attractive mellow appearance.

Rare Remington-Beals 2nd Model Pocket Percussion
Revolver - Serial no. 144, 31 cal., 3 inch octagon bbl., blue
finish, hard rubber grips. Only 1,000 of these 2nd Model Beals Pocket revolvers were manufactured in 1858 and 1859. The top barrel flat
has the two-line Beals patent dates/Remington address marking. The matching serial number is on the grip frame and barrel.
CONDITION: Fine. The barrel and cylinder retains 40% original blue finish, otherwise the revolver has a smooth brown patina. The grips are fine with a couple small chips and overall crisp checkering.
Mechanically excellent.

Remington New Model Pocket Percussion
Revolver with Extremely Scarce Trapezoidal Box
- Serial no. 8850, 31 cal., 3 1/2 inch octagon bbl., blue finish,
walnut grips. Manufactured in 1865-1873. This is a third type with iron
frame and iron spur trigger sheath. Matching serial numbers are on the grip frame,
barrel and
both grip
panels. The
included
period
original
black basket
weave
pattern
cardboard
trapezoidal box
is extremely scarce. The
box is partitioned for the revolver
and accessories and contains a powder flask,
oiler, two cavity bullet mold and a few lead balls. The
survivability rate for these boxes was extremely low. Very few of
these boxes are known to collectors. It will be likely be a long time before
another such box comes up for public sale.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 70% plus bright original high polish blue finish with a
smooth brown patina on the balance. 98% age darkened original silver remains on the trigger
sheath. The grips are fine with a couple tiny chips near the bottom, some minor handling marks and most of the original varnish remaining. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine showing minor wear. An attractive Remington New Model Pocket Percussion Revolver with extremely scarce, highly sought after trapezoidal box.
