Documented Remington
1st Model Beals Pocket Percussion Revolver with Rare Box - Serial no. 31, 31 cal., 3 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in 1857-1858. This is a 1st Model with the four line patent/ address marking on the top
trap and wide cylinder locking
notches between nipples.
Matching serial number “31”
on the grip frame, grip, inside
of the tiggerguard, and barrel.
Includes the extremely rare cardboard partitioned shipping carton containing double sided powder flask, ramrod and two cavity brass bullet mold. The revolver is pictured in Charles Schif’s “Remington’s First Revolvers: The Remington Beals .31 Caliber Revolvers” on page 23. According to Schif, “To date, only 3 of these original cartons are known to exist.”
CONDITION: Very good, retaining strong traces of original blue and casehardened finishes in the protected areas, otherwise a smooth brown patina. The grip is excellent with some mild-minor handling marks. Mechanically needs work as cylinder does not always rotate when action is cycled. The carton is very fine with some
minor wear.

Collector’s Lot of Two Remington-Smoot New Model Revolvers -A) Scarce Blued
Remington-Smooth New Model pocket No. 1 Revolver - Serial no. 2197, 30 RF cal., 2 13/16 inch solid rib
bbl., blue finish, synthetic grips. Manufactured from 1875-1877. Standard one-line address/patent marking on
barrel rib, recoil shield affixed rigidly to the frame, and Remington smooth grips. Scarce and desirable full blued finish. The butt a well known Fritz Baehr collection mark, “FB-211.”
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 80% plus original blue finish with flaking and thinning to
brown on the balance. Nearly all original case colors remain on the hammer. The grips are
also very fine with a short hairline crack at the back edge of the left panel and attractive color.
Mechanically excellent. B) Remington-Smooth New Model No. 1 Revolver - Serial no. 1638, 30 RF cal., 2 13/16
inch solid rib bbl., nickel finish, walnut grips. Manufactured from 1875-1877. Standard one-line address/patent
marking on barrel rib and recoil shield affixed rigidly to the frame.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% original nickel finish with limited flash type pitting visible on top frame strap. The grips are very fine with high edge wear. Mechanically excellent.

Collectors Lot of Two Antique Remington-Rider Double Action Pocket Revolvers
-A) Remington-Rider Percussion Pocket Revolver - Serial no. 2714, 31 cal., 3 1/8 inch octagon bbl., blue
finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured from 1860 to 1873, with a total production of 2,000 split between
percussion and rimfire configuration. The two-line Remington address and patent marking is on the top barrel
flat and the serial number is on the bottom of the barrel and bottom of the frame.
CONDITION: Good, retains faint traces of the original blue finish with the balance
mostly a smooth brown patina, some scattered light pitting, and some minor tool
marks. The grips are very good with some scattered light handling marks and crisp
checkering. The cylinder does not completely rotate in double action, otherwise mechanically
fine. B) Remington-Rider .32 RF Pocket Revolver with Scarce 2 Inch Barrel - Serial no. 2138,
32 RF cal., 2 inch octagon bbl., nickel finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured after 1873, with a total
production of 2,000 split between percussion and rimfire configuration. The Remington address is on
the top barrel flat and the serial number is on the bottom of the barrel and bottom of the frame.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 90% plus of the period nickel finish with some scattered patches of light
flaking/pitting. The front sight is absent. The grips are fine with a minor chip absent at the top of the left panel,
otherwise light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Conversion Pocket Revolver - Serial
no. 8829, 32 RF cal., 3 inch octagon bbl.,
nickel finish, hard rubber grips. Factory
conversions to metallic cartridge for this model
were introduced after 1873. The top barrel flat has the two-line address/patent marking. Matching serial numbers on the barrel and frame.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% untouched original nickel finish. The grips are very fine with some minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Collectors Lot of Two Antique Remington New Model Pocket Spur Trigger Revolvers
-A) Remington New Model Pocket Third Type .32 Rimfire Revolver with Extra
Percussion
Cylinder -
Serial no. 11846,
32 RF cal., 4 1/2 inch octagon
bbl., blue/silver finish, rosewood grips.
Manufactured in 1865-1873. This is a third type with
iron frame and iron spur trigger sheath. Matching
serial numbers are on the grip frame and barrel. The
matching serial number is on the left of the grip frame, bottom of the barrel, and tang of the trigger sheath. The standard two-line patent dates/address is on the top barrel flat and it is fitted with smooth grips. Includes an extra percussion cylinder.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 90% of the original silver finish on the trigger sheath, 40% of the original blue on the barrel, and traces of original blue on the remainder with the balance having thinned to mostly a grey-brown patina. The dark grips are also fine with a few light chips in the bottom edges and some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
B) Remington New Model Pocket Third Type Percussion Revolver - Serial no. 13672, 31 cal., 3 1/2 inch octagon bbl., blue/silver finish, rosewood grips. Manufactured from 1865 to 1873, the majority of New Model Pocket production was manufactured or converted to use metallic cartridges, making original percussion examples like this relatively scarce. The top flat of the barrel is marked with the standard two-line Remington patent dates and address. The serial number is on the bottom of the barrel, left of the grip frame, the tang of the iron trigger sheath, and hand marked inside both grips. It is fitted with blade and frame notch sights as well as a pair of smooth rosewood grips.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 70% of the original blue on the barrel, traces of original silver on the trigger sheath, and traces of original blue on the remainder with the balance having thinned to mostly a brown-grey patina. The grips are also fine with some minor handling marks scattered throughout.
Mechanically excellent.
