Special Order Winchester Model 1885 High Wall Single Shot Rifle in Desirable .45-90 W.C.F. - Serial no. 86783, 45-90 WCF cal., 30 inch heavy octagon
bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1900 with the standard two-line address and caliber markings on the upper flat of the barrel and the serial
number is on the lower tang. The No. 3 weight octagon barrel is fitted with blade front and elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sights. It is mounted with a smooth
Schnabel tip forearm with an ebony insert and a smooth pistol grip stock (no assembly number, as is the tang) with a crescent buttplate.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% plus of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth brown-grey patina, primarily on edges, the buttplate, and the upper
tang, where the tang screw shows considerable marring. The wood is fine with a hidden repair in the stock inlet that has allowed some gaps around the upper tang and a slightly loose fit, and otherwise minimal handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

LOT 3376 Winchester Model 1885 High Wall Single Shot Style Musket - Serial no. 109293, 22 short cal., 28 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured with standard Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, the one on the receiver offset to the left to accommodate the receiver sight. The .22 Short barrel has the standard two-line address/patent marking and caliber marking offset to the left to accommodate the likely factory installed scope blocks. The three-line trademark information is on the upper tang and the serial number on the lower. It is fitted with a blade front sight, no provision for a rear sight, and a Lyman 45 style receiver sight mounted on the right. It is also fitted with double set triggers, sling swivels, and the aforementioned scope blocks. It is mounted with a musket-length forearm and straight grip stock with a military buttplate. (Consignor notes indicate that it was originally factory recorded in .38-55 W.C.F. with a 30 inch octagon barrel.) CONDITION: Very fine as factory refinished, retains 95% plus of the blue finish with some light handling marks and edge wear, most noticeably on the buttplate. LOT 3377 Winchester Model 1885 High Wall Single Shot Musket in .22 LR with Factory Letter - Serial no. 101589, 22 LR cal., 28 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1905 with standard markings including Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, along with London proofs on the barrel, receiver, and breech block. The three-line patent and trademark information is on the upper tang and the serial number on the lower. The No. 1 weight barrel has the two-line address/patent marking, caliber marking at the breech, and is fitted with pinned blade front and “special” military type folding ladder rear sights. There is a cleaning rod fitted under the barrel and a sling swivel on the middle band. It is mounted with a smooth musket style forearm and straight grip stock with a sling swivel and military style buttplate. The included factory letter confirms the caliber, barrel weight, and “special rear sight, while listing the barrel length as 25 inches, which may be a factory error as the current correct barrel length is 28 inches. It lists receipt at the warehouse on 28 March 1911 and shipment on 30 August 1911. CONDITION: Fine. The rifle retains 60% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. Areas of original case colors remain on the lever, hammer, and breechblock. The stock is very good with a small hairline crack on the wrist, numerous minor handling marks, and a few minor gouges. U.S. Winchester Model 1885 Low Wall Winder Musket in .22 Short - Serial no. 138226, 22 short cal., 28 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured after 1919 with standard markings including Winchester factory oval proofs and “US/flaming bomb” at the rear of the receiver. Blade front and receiver mounted Lyman peep sights. Smooth forearm with finger groove and straight grip stock with sling swivels and military style buttplate. CONDITION: Fine, retains 40% plus of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned to a mostly grey-brown patina, most noticeably on the receiver and buttplate.
