   LOT 3497 Excellent Marlin Model 38 Slide Action Rifle - Serial no. A4193, 22 S L LR cal., 24 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured 1920-1930. The rifle features a Lyman hooded front, folding notch rear, and tang peep sights, standard barrel inscription on the top barrel flat with the caliber marking on the upper left flat at the breech. Mounted with an 8 rib forend and smooth buttstock. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 90% plus original blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance and slide retraction marks. Wood is very fine with scattered handling marks, crazing, and a few dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection. Estimate: 950 - 1,600 LOT 3498 Collector’s Lot of Two Marlin Slide Action Rifles -A) Serial Number 2 Marlin Model 29 Rifle - Serial no. 2, 22 S L LR cal., 23 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured 1913-1916. Features beaded blade front and fixed notch rear sights, standard marlin markings on the top of the barrel with the caliber offset to the left at the breech. Mounted with a smooth forend and matching number straight grip stock. Serial number 2 is stamped on upper left tang under the buttstock. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 75% original blue finish overall, with thinning to brown on the balance, scattered spotting, and slide retraction marks. Wood is very good with scattered dings and scratches and gaps on either side of the lower tang with top of tang screw battered. Mechanically excellent. B) Marlin Model 18 Rifle - Serial no. 8945, 22 RF cal., 20 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured 1906-1909. Features blade front and fixed notch rear sight, standard Marlin barrel inscription on the top barrel flat. Mounted on a smooth forend and matching number straight grip stock. The serial number (8945) is located on te left side of the upper tang, under the buttstock. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 50% original blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance, a few spots of light pitting, and slide retraction marks. Wood is also fine with a crack in the forend, scattered dings and scratches, and some darkening in the wrist. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection. Estimate: 1,500 - 2,500 LOT 3499 Collector’s Lot of Two Marlin Slide Action Rifles -A) Marlin Model 27-S Rifle - NSN, 25-20 M cal., 24 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured 1913- 1932. Features beaded blade front sight and elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sights, standard barrel inscription on the top flat and the caliber marking on the top flat at the breech as well as “Special Smokeless Steel” on the top left flat between two diamonds. Mounted with a 9 ridge forearm and smooth straight grip stock with crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 70% original blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance, spots ear. Wood is also fine with scattered dings and scratches and crazing in the varnish. Mechanically excellent. B) Marlin Model 20-A Rifle - Serial no. 191, 22 S L LR cal., 24 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured 1907-1922. Features beaded blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights, standard Marlin barrel inscription on the top barrel flat with the caliber marking on the top left barrel flat at the breech. Mounted with a 9 ridge forearm and smooth straight grip stock with crescent buttplate. Matching numbers (191) on the side of the upper tang, stock inlet, and buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 80% original blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance, high edge wear, and slide retraction marks. Wood is fine with crazing in the varnish, scattered dings and scratches, and a few hairline cracks coming off the receiver tangs. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection. Estimate: 1,200 - 1,700 LOT 3500 Collector’s Lot of Two Marlin Slide Action Rifles -A) Marlin Model 20-S Rifle - Serial no. 3542, 22 RF cal., 24 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured 1907-1932. This rifle features beaded blade front sight and elevation adjustable rear sights, standard barrel inscription on the top flat with no caliber marking and “MARLIN/No. 20-S” on the upper tang. Mounted on a nine rib forearm and smooth straight grip stock with crescent buttplate. Number 3542 on left upper tang under the replaced buttstock number 673 with buttplate number 19. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 75% thin original blue finish on the barrel and magazine with 80% bright original blue on the frame with the balance a smooth brown patina, a small spot of light pitting by one of the frame screws on the left side, and otherwise minor handling marks. Wood is also fine with scattered light dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. B) Marlin Model 38 Rifle - Serial no. 2583, 22 S L LR cal., 24 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured 1920-1930. The rifle features a Marble beaded blade front, folding notch rear, and tang peep sights, standard barrel inscription on the top barrel flat with the caliber marking on the upper left flat at the breech. Mounted with an 8 rib forend and smooth buttstock. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 75% original blue finish with some fading on the receiver, scattered light handling marks. Wood is very good as refurbished with scattered light handling marks and a few dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection. Estimate: 1,200 - 1,700 LOT 3501 Collector’s Lot of Two Marlin Slide Action Rifles -A) Marlin Model 27-S Rifle - NSN, 25 RF cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured 1913-1932. Features beaded blade front sight and elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sights, standard barrel inscription on the top flat and the caliber marking on the top flat at the breech as well as “Special Smokeless Steel” on the top left flat between two diamonds. The top of the receiver has been drilled and tapped. Mounted with a 9 ridge forearm and smooth straight grip stock with crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 80% blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance, slide retraction marks, and high edge wear. The refinished wood is fine with light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. B) Marlin Model 38 Rifle - Serial no. 755, 22 S L LR cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured 1920-1930.
