   LOT 3543 Anton Burckhardt Percussion Target Pistol - NSN, 52 cal., 8 1/2 inch octagon bbl., brown/silver/casehardened/German silver finish, walnut stock. Mid 19th century pistol from the shop of Anton Burckhardt of Weimar, Thuringia, with a swamped octagon barrel with German silver blade front sight, “ANTON BURCKHARDT IN WEIMAR” inlaid on top, and casehardened breech. The standing breech has a screw adjustable notch rear sight. The lock is signed “AN: BURCKHARDT/IN WEIMAR” and has floral and fish engraving on the hammer. It is equipped with an adjustable single set trigger. The furniture is German silver and includes a finger spur trigger guard. The full-length stock has checkering on the wrist with carved borders and pin accents. CONDITION: Fine overall with light original case colors on the lock, some original brown on the underside of the barrel, mostly mottled gray and brown patina on the visible iron surfaces along with some spots of mild pitting, aged patina on the German silver furniture, a few pins absent from the stock, and mild scratches and dings. European LeFaucheux Patter Pinfire Double Action Revolver with Holster and Pouch - NSN, 9 mm Pinfire cal., 4 3/4 inch part octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut grips. This revolver is based on one of the many LeFaucheux designs which dominated the world of pinfire revolvers in the late 19th century. This example appears to be completely unmarked but is of very fine craftsmanship. It is fitted with a tall pinched blade front sight and hammer notch rear sight, a folding trigger, and a pair of checkered walnut grips. Includes a leather holster and belt pouch. This was a gift to the consignor from an employee whose father liberated it in World War II. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 75% of the original high polish blue finish and 40% of the original case colors with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth brown-grey patina, and a some brown oxidation on the cylinder. The grips are also very fine with some light wear. Mechanically excellent. The ejection rod is absent. The holster and pouch are both fine with some mild wear. Provenance: The Milan J. Percussion Powder Tester or “Eprouvette” - , blue/casehardened finish, walnut grips. Marked “J-5” on the hammer and 1 through 6 on
the wheel.
CONDITION: Very fine with 70% plus original casehardened finish, strong original blue,
minor oxidation, and some small dings on the otherwise very fine grip.

Samuel Jung Suhl Marked Silver Inlaid, and Engraved Double Barrel Percussion Pistol - NSN, 56 cal., 6 1/4 inch solid rib bbl., brown/silver/ casehardened/German silver finish, walnut stock. Samuel Jung was a gunmaker active in the early to mid 19th century in Suhl. The smoothbore Damascus barrels have a German silver bead front sight on the rib along with “SAMUEL JUNG A SUHL” and floral designs in silver inlay, and silver bands at the breech. The locks are similarly signed “SAMUEL JUNG” (right) and “A SUHL” (left) in silver inlay and also have floral engraving and mythical beast sculpted hammers. The furniture is German silver and has floral engraving. The stock has panels of checkering with floral carved accents and a horn forend cap. CONDITION: Fine with attractively aged patina on the silver inlays, gray and brown patina on the iron along with some mild pitting, repaired hammers, aged patina on the German silver furniture, and crisp engraving. The stock is also fine and has a spot of wear on the left side of the otherwise crisp checkering, distinct carving, minor dings and scratches, and some small chips at the edges. Mechanically fine.          Engraved Pair of Joseph Egg Percussion Coat Pistols -A) Egg Coat Pistol - NSN, 65 cal., 5 1/4 inch octagon bbl., brown/ casehardened/blue finish, walnut stock. Joseph Egg was one of the best gunmakers in London in the early 19th century. These pistols are signed “Josh Egg” on the locks and “London” on the barrels in script and have floral and scroll engraving. The smoothbore barrels have bead front sights, and integral notch rear sights are on the upper tangs. The stocks have checkered bag shaped wrists and silver wrist escutcheons. CONDITION: Very good with a mix of fading original brown finish and brown patina on the barrel, light original case colors, bright original blue finish in the protected areas of the trigger guard, light oxidation, and mild overall wear. The stock is also fine and has some mild edge wear, dings and scratches, crisp checkering, and attractive grain. Mechanically fine. B) Egg Coat Pistol - NSN, 65 cal., 5 1/4 inch octagon bbl., brown/casehardened/blue finish, walnut stock. See “A”. CONDITION: Fine with a mix of fading original brown finish and brown patina on the barrel, 30% original case colors, 40% original blue on the protected areas of the trigger guard, light oxidation, and general mild overall wear. The stock is also fine and has crisp checkering, mild wear mainly on the forend, and light surface scratches and dings. Mechanically fine. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection.
