1894 Production Transitional Marlin Model 1894 Lever Action Saddle Ring
Carbine with Factory Letter - Serial no. 109591, 38 WCF cal., 20 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1894, the first year of production. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line address and patent marking between the barrel band and rear sight, and the caliber marking at the breech. The top of the receiver is marked “MARLIN SAFETY” without guide screws and the serial number is on the bottom. It is fitted with blade front and folding ladder rear sights (rear sight slide retention screw absent), and a saddle ring staple and saddle ring are mounted on the left of the receiver. It is mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration as well as shipment on 5 July 1894.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 75% plus of the original blue finish overall and 50% of the vibrant original case colors
with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on edges and handling areas. The wood is very good with a noticeable chip missing on the top right of the buttstock at the frame juncture and some light scratches and dings
scattered throughout. Mechanically excellent.

Scarce Marlin Model 1893 Lever Action Saddle Ring Trapper Carbine with Desirable
16 Inch Barrel - Serial no. D8241, 30-30 cal., 16 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. This carbine features a fixed front blade sight and a folding leaf adjustable rear sight. The top of the 16
inch barrel is marked “Marlin Firearms Co, NEW - HAVEN, CT. U.S.A./PAT’D OCT. 11, 1887. APRIL. 2, 1889. AUG. 1, 1893.” and the left side of the barrel is marked “SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL”. Casehardened lever and receiver. The carbine has a barrel band ahead of the front sight. The top of the receiver is marked “MARLIN SAFETY”. Saddle ring is mounted on the left side of the receiver, and the upper tang is marked “MODEL/1893”. The serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. Mounted with a plain forearm and straight grip stock with a steel buttplate. CONDITION: Very good. The barrel and magazine retain 65% of the faded original blue finish
with some minor thinning and spotting overall. The receiver shows shadows of the original case colors with strong colors on the lower tang as well as the protected areas and a smooth brown/gray patina overall. The wood is fine with
some scratches and minor gouges overall. Mechanically excellent.

Very Fine Documented Antique Marlin Model 1894 Lever Action Takedown Rifle with Factory Letter - Serial no. 115985, 38 WCF cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1895 in takedown configuration with the standard two-line address/patent marking and caliber designation on top of the barrel. The top of the receiver is marked “MARLIN SAFETY”, serial number on the bottom of the receiver, and model designation on the upper tang. It is fitted with German silver blade front and elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sights, and is mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration and shipment on 12 October 1895. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 90% plus of the original blue finish and 75% plus of the vivid original case colors with the balance
Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500
    having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina with a few scattered patches of light spotting. The wood is also very fine with some scattered
light dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
