DescriptionIntroduced in 1929. Dual bead sights on a matte solid barrel rib, 2 1/2" chambers and ejectors. The right barrel is marked "L.C. SMITH--SKEET SPECIAL" and the left barrel has the one line Hunter Arms Fulton address, with "LONDON STEEL" marked on the underside of both barrels. The water table is marked "SKEET" and the trigger guard plate is marked "HUNTER/ONE/TRIGGER". Casehardened action with the lock plates marked "L.C. SMITH" and featuring sparse scrollwork in the corners and a bird (a game bird on the right, a clay bird on the left). Single non-selective trigger and tang safety. Checkered streamline beavertail forend and checkered straight grip stock with replacement vented Hawkins recoil pad. Length of pull is 13 3/4". Complete with an Abercrombie & Fitch marked leather takedown case.

ConditionExcellent. The barrels retain 98% original blue finish with some minor thinning on the breech and muzzle ends. The action retains 80% original faded case colors with the balance a smooth silver-gray patina with some minor pitting on the fences. There is a plug through the tip of the stock flats to prevent cracking and there are a few small minor cracks behind the locks. Otherwise the wood is excellent with mild handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is good with minor handling, scuff marks, some heavy wear, and some missing stitching, with the carrying strap absent.

SHIPPING CHARGES. All shipping charges must be paid by the successful bidder prior to delivery of the firearm. If Rock Island Auction (RIAC) is asked to ship the purchased lots, there will be a separate charge for such shipping. Shipping charges will be based upon what it costs RIAC to ship the purchased lots to the purchaser. All items must have shipping insurance; this insurance is mandatory. RIAC will not charge any labor charges for shipping. RIAC is not liable for any acts of omissions in packaging or shipping. Purchased lots handled by outside carriers or packers, including those RIAC may have recommended, may carry their own insurance and any claims for losses or damages should be addressed directly to the outside carriers or packers.
