DescriptionWinchester Model 52D target rifle manufactured in 1964. This rifle was purchased by the U.S. Army and is electro-penciled with the "U.S." property mark on the left side of the receiver above the serial number. The rifle was purchased from the Civilian Marksmanship Program and is complete with the CMP receipt, Certificate of Authenticity and shipping container. The rifle has a commercial blue, medium-weight barrel. The barrel is fitted with a block for a globe front sight at the muzzle and blocks for a target telescopic sight. A Redfield mount for micrometer rear sight is fitted to the receiver. The bolt body is polished bright. The black walnut, oil-finished, target stock has a full length accessory rail and is complete with the original Winchester handstop/sling swivel. The stock is fitted with a lower sling swivel and Winchester, black rubber recoil pad with white line spacer. The left side of the barrel is roll-stamped: "-WINCHESTER- / -TRADE MARK-/-MADE IN U.S.A.-" in three lines followed by "MODEL 52 -22 L. RIFLE-/-WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-". Oval "W/P" Winchester proofmarks are stamped on the left side of the barrel and receiver. The left side of the receiver is electro-penciled "U.S." above the serial number "117388D". The right side of the receiver is roll-stamped: "WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK" in two lines.

ConditionNear new. The rifle retains 99% of the original blue finish. Wear is limited to some very minor scratches on the edge of the trigger guard and two small scuff marks on the left side of the barrel. The bore is mirror bright. The stock is in nearly new condition with all of the original oil finish and un-touched, raised, grain with no handling or storage marks. This is an exceptional example of a fully documented, U.S. property Winchester 52D target rifle in almost new condition. It would be very difficult to find a U.S. Winchester 52D rifle in better condition than this rifle

SHIPPING CHARGES. All shipping charges must be paid by the successful bidder prior to delivery of the firearm. If Rock Island Auction (RIAC) is asked to ship the purchased lots, there will be a separate charge for such shipping. Shipping charges will be based upon what it costs RIAC to ship the purchased lots to the purchaser. All items must have shipping insurance; this insurance is mandatory. RIAC will not charge any labor charges for shipping. RIAC is not liable for any acts of omissions in packaging or shipping. Purchased lots handled by outside carriers or packers, including those RIAC may have recommended, may carry their own insurance and any claims for losses or damages should be addressed directly to the outside carriers or packers. RIAC will arrange for packing and shipping at RIAC’s earliest possible convenience. RIAC will attempt to ship as soon as possible; however, due to RIAC’s high volume of absentee bids, shipping can take up to two weeks after full payment is received. In the case of crating or any exceptional packaging, the purchaser will be charged RIAC’s cost from outside agents. Purchaser pays shipping, packing materials, and insurance charges. The shipping of any purchased items outside of the United States is hereby classified as “foreign export”. All foreign export is the sole responsibility of the purchaser.
