DescriptionThis is an example of a refurbished "Heinrich Himmler" Presentation PP pistol, that is very similar to the PPK pistols shown and discussed on pages, 39, 40, and 41 of the book," Walther Volume II, Engraved, Presentation and Standard Models", by Rankin. This pistol is fully engraved in a deep chiseled relief traditional oak leaf and acorn pattern that covers over 98% of the metal surfaces. This specific example is engraved on the upper left side of the slide "Dem Tapferen! Vom Reichsfuhrer -SS H. Himmler 1944", which loosely translates to "to the brave! (or valiant/courageous) from the Reichsfuhrer -SS Heinrich Himmler 1944". Both show extensive and deluxe engraving that also includes cross-hatched type engraving over the chamber area of the barrel that still show the full Walther slide legend. This pistol has the standard Walther two line factory markings on the left side that consist of the "Walther" inside a banner next to "Waffenfabrik Walther, Zella-Mehlis (Thur)/Walther's Patent Cal 7,65 m/m" next to "Mod. PP". It is fitted with the standard black plastic grips that has, "WALTHER" in a banner on each side. The pistol has the 60 degree safety lever and side mounted magazine release button. The right side of the frame, slide, barrel all have the "Nazi Eagle/N" commercial proof. It is complete with one magazine that is marked, "Walther/PP 7,65mm" on the left side with a flat base plate.

ConditionVery fine as period refinished with 95% of the blue finish remaining, with minor pitting present under the finish at muzzle. There is only a hint of edge wear and the engraving and markings are all sharp and clear. The grips are also in very fine with nice distinct checkering and markings. The engraving is exceptional and covers almost all of the metal surfaces except the upper rear area of the back strap. Mechanically excellent.
