|Description||This is an excellent example of a Nazi Walther Mod. PPK Party Leader pistol with the highly desirable Political Leader Party grips. These PPKs were presented to high ranking Nazi officers of the NSDAP for meritorious service to the Nazi Party. Original NSDAP Party Leader Walther PPK pistols (and associated grips) have been documented in the 850,000 to 935,000 range and again in the 174,000K to 234,965K serial number range. These Nazi Party Leader grips can be easily identified as at the top of each side; they depict a large "Nazi Eagle" clutching a swastika that is encircled by a wreath, and the remaining area of the grip has the standard impress checkering. The grips themselves are made of a mottled brown plastic material that is molded into a one-piece, wrap around grip. The pistol slide is marked with the standard Walther banner followed by standard, two line, legend and caliber markings with "Mod. PPK." The pistol itself has the pre-war commercial "Crown/N" proofmarks on the right side of the slide, chamber area of the frame and muzzle area of the barrel. The slide has a 60 degree safety lever, cartridge indicator pin, and is fitted with a lanyard loop on the bottom butt. The serial number (199672K) is stamped vertically on the right side of the frame with the last three digits correctly scratched inside the slide. It is complete with one blued Walther marked magazine with the matching mottled brown plastic finger extension. This very scarce pistol is also accompanied by an equally rare, if not rarer, original "Party Leader" Walther PPK presentation leather holster. This holster was always issued and worn with these pistols as it immediately signified to everyone that the bearer was presented the Honor Weapon PPK. The front flap of the holster is clearly impressed with an identical large Nazi Eagle clutching a Swastika encircled by a wreath. The holster is stamped on the lower front flap with D.R.G.M./Crossed Rifles/Akah" which identifies this holster as being produced by Albrecht Kind, a noted holster maker throughout the war. This pistol is accompanied by a post-war Walther presentation case that has a blue leatherette cover with a red felt interior. This super rig is accompanied by an original WWII NSDAP Political Leaders provisional training/instruction manual.
|Condition||Excellent with 98% plus of the original blue finish overall with just minor edge and high spot wear. The grip is also in excellent condition with a very nice brown mottled plastic appearance with some very minor warpage at the lower edges of the grip. The nitre blue on safety remains 80% intact. The holster is also in excellent condition with tight stitching overall and clear, sharp stamps in the leather. The case is also in excellent condition with only minor edge wear.|
