NPRF - NON-PROFESSIONALLY REFINISHED/COLD BLUE, ETC.

Manufactured in 1902. Factory letter states: "Rifle, 38/56, 1/2 octagon barrel, plain trigger, 1/2 magazine". This rifle was received in the warehouse on July 15, 1902 and was then shipped July 16, 1902. Fixed front sight with no open rear sights, a blank has been installed in one of the two empty slots. Blue finish. Model designation on the upper tang with serial number and patent information on the lower tang. Straight grip walnut stock with crescent steel buttplate.

Good as partially refinished. The barrel is showing high point edge wear as well as scattered scratches and dings. The balance has a mottled gray patina. The receiver has a mottled gray patina with spotting and casual surface scratches. The wood is fair with pressure dents and scratches throughout including a chip at the rear of the forearm and around the upper tang. The action is tight.
