OC - FINE- all original parts; over 30% original finish, sharp lettering, numerals and design on metal and wood; minor marks in wood.

Description:

Third Model with the guide rail integrally machined to the receiver. Dove tail front sight with adjustable buckhorn rear sight. The rare extra long 32" inch barrel is attached with two keeper rings. It is marked "WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A./ -- KING'S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29. 1866. OCTOBER 16. 1860.--" The marking "38-40 W C F" on the left barrel flat just below the sight is a later edition. The original, on top of the barrel, is barely visible. The receiver is marked "47/CP" while the guide rail is numbered "31625". The serial number is not completely intact with "2634" the only visible numbers. Model designation on the upper tang. Smooth walnut straight grip stock with crescent buttplate with brass trap.

Rating Definition:

Fair as refinished. The barrel has mottled dark brown patina showing edge wear and scattered dings. The receiver has a mottled dark brown patina with edge wear and pockets of pin prick pitting. The wood has also been refurbished with pressure dents and dings throughout. The action is good.
