OD - VERY GOOD- all original parts; none to 30% original finish; original metal surfaces smooth with all edges sharp; clear lettering, numerals and design on metal; wood slightly scratched or bruised.

Description:

Second model Allin Conversion rifle manufactured circa 1866. The breechblock is marked "1866 / eagle head", the lock is dated "1864" behind the hammer and marked with the eagle shield motif and "U.S. / SPRINGFIELD" ahead of the hammer Approximately 25,000 of these 1863 Muskets were altered at Springfield. There is a slide on front sight cover. The wood has been varnished, the action is tight.
