OD - VERY GOOD- all original parts; none to 30% original finish; original metal surfaces smooth with all edges sharp; clear lettering, numerals and design on metal; wood slightly scratched or bruised.

Description:

Manufactured between 1862-1865, marked "MERWIN & BRAY.AGTS/NEW YORK" on the left side of the receiver and "BALLARD'S PATENT/NOV.5.1861" on the right side of the receiver. The patent date is also visible on the left side of the hammer, with "No 44" marked above the receiver. Blade front sight with a L shaped notched rear sight, sling swivels and sling, with an external extractor.
