Description:

This rifle is one of the most popular lever actions that Winchester ever produced. This is the "Gun That Won The West". Manufactured in 1889, this is a Third Model with the dust cover that operates on the central guide rail integrally machined as part of the receiver. Fixed dovetail front sight with adjustable rear buckhorn sights. The top of the barrel has the two line address/ patent marking. "44 CAL" is marked on the barrel at the action and on the carrier. Serial number on the lower tang and the model designation on the upper tang. Smooth forearm with a steel forend cap and straight grip stock with a steel crescent buttplate with cleaning rod trap.

Rating Definition:

Poor, with most of the surface having taken on an 'orange peel' texture, and some live rust present. The stock is very good, with some scratches and pressure dents. The action is very good
