Made from a pair of 5 inch Mark V naval shells welded together, with a hinged brass door and a 75mm shell suspended within. All three shells dated between 1940 and 1945. Very good, with a mixed aged patina and one screw absent from the door. Purpose unknown, most popular guess an oil heater, lamp, or similar item.
