OD - VERY GOOD- all original parts; none to 30% original finish; original metal surfaces smooth with all edges sharp; clear lettering, numerals and design on metal; wood slightly scratched or bruised.

Description:

Colt's answer to Winchester in the lever-action rifle market with approximately 2600 carbines manufactured from 1883 to 1885. Faint two line Hartford barrel address/patent marking and "+BURGESS'S PATENTS+" on the bottom of lever. Fixed front and folding rear (graduated to 900 yards) sights, full length tube magazine and saddle ring on left side of receiver. Nickel finish (an estimated 216 carbines were nickel plated). Mounted with a replacement forearm and straight grip stock with crescent steel buttplate. There is some moderate pitting.
