Manufactured in 1883 with buttplate tang stamped "US". Standard markings and features. Complete with leather military sling (fair).

Lock plate dated "1863" and "US" stamped buttplate tang. "378" stamped above buttplate tang with faint inspector's cartouche on left stock. Barrel shortened to its present length and ram rod channel filled.

OF - FAIR- some major parts replaced; minor replacement parts may be required; metal rusted, may be lightly pitted all over, vigorously cleaned; rounded edges of metal and wood; principal lettering, numerals and design on metal partly obliterated; wood scratched, bruised, cracked or repaired where broken; in fair working order or can be easily repaired and placed in working order.

Lock plate marked "1863" date with illegible inspector cartouche on left wrist area. Barrel and stock shortened. Ram rod pipe added to barrel with iron trumpet head ram rod.
