According to an article by Edward Meadows (photocopy included), this pistol was shipped to Major Cyrus Radford, U.S.M.C. for use by the Marine Corps Pistol Team in 1917. Later master engraved by Geoffrey Gournet, 70% coverage, ivory grips added, and a glass topped display case.
