OD - VERY GOOD- all original parts; none to 30% original finish; original metal surfaces smooth with all edges sharp; clear lettering, numerals and design on metal; wood slightly scratched or bruised.

WW - WOOD IS WORSE FOR THE PERCENT FINISH RATING GIVEN

Description:

One of approximately 3,200 New Haven Arms lever action pistols manufactured in 1857 and 1858. The top barrel flat is marked "NEW HAVEN, CONN/PATENT FEB. 14, 1854". The serial number is marked on the left side of the frame under the grip and on the inside of each grip panel. Brass frame, the barrel and magazine tube were blue and it is fitted with smooth walnut grips.
