Description:

1) The skull is composed of 3-pieces with 2 joined together with a weld along the top and a third piece riveted across the back. There is no latching mechanism for the bevor or ventail. The bevor is 2-pieces welded together. The 2-piece welded ventail has a crosshatched etching pattern, a series of holes in a straight line joined together with cuts on the right side and the left has a circular series of holes with a decorative etching pattern resembling a water wheel joining them. The visor is 1-piece with a weld on the bridge of the nose area and a lifting peg on the right side. Good. 2) 17th Century sword measuring 41 3/4" overall, with a 36" single fuller blade, lightly engraved around the fuller. Iron hilt, with a downturned languet on the left, a heart shaped ring on the side, a set of upturned crossguard quillions, a smooth wood grip and a round pommel pierced for a tassel. With a black canvas wrapped wooden scabbard, fitted with a frog stud and iron tip. Fair. 3) Small child or pillow/scarfe sword measuring 21 7/8" overall, this sword bears no makers marks, and may have been intended for use by a young boy or kept close at hand while sleeping. 17" spear tip double edged blade, with a 4 3/4" long crossguard, leather strip wrapped grip, and a "fig" shaped pommel. Fair. 4) Hand and a half sword measuring 50 3/4" overall, the sword is equipped with a 39 3/4" long, double edged triple fuller blade, with etched dot and interwoven line patterns on each side, concentrated between the fullers. Cast bronze hilt fittings, with raised leaf patterns on the guard rings, 13 1/2" crossguard and round pommel, and a ribbed grip with leather wrapping. Fine. 5) Late 19th century copy of a European shield with a semi-spiral fluted pattern on the body with a leafy rosette at the center having a 2 3/4 inch spike. The edge is rolled with a roped pattern. There are four sets of two rivets evenly spaced for straps. Good.
