Description:

This muzzle loading black powder cast iron cannon measures 24 1/2 " long and 4 1/2" in diameter with a steel rifled 80 gauge barrel. The breech area is marked "U.S./ 1849". Mounted on a wood carriage with steel hardware and steel banded wood wheels. The cannon and carriage measure 24 1/2" long x 13' wide x 15" tall at the muzzle and weighs approximately 95 pounds. The cannon is good with 10% plus of the black finish remaining and the rest a brown patina with a few light handling marks. The carriage and hardware are good with some handling marks and the brown stain on the wood thinning. The wood carriage and wheels show some cracks and the two front wheel bands are loose.
