Manufactured circa 1860-1866. German silver blade front and folding ladder rear sights. No makers marks are present on the barrel. Fine scroll and punch dot engraving on the frame, with a scene of a resting lion on the left sideplate and flowers on the front panels. Smooth, one piece buttstock with a brass buttplate. True factory engraved Henry rifles are among the most rare and highly sought after collectable firearms and draw interest from a wide range of collectors. Factory engraving was a special order feature at the time as was the option for a plating.
