OE - GOOD - some minor replacement parts; metal smoothly rusted or lightly pitted in places, cleaned; principal lettering, numerals and design on metal legible; lightly scratched, bruised or minor cracks repaired; in good working order.

Description:

Manufactured in 1871, this is a Third Model 1866 carbine with a saddle ring on the left side of the brass receiver and the serial number stamped behind the trigger. The top of the barrel has the two line address/patent dates ahead of the two leaf rear sight. Included with the carbine is a Winchester museum letter (dated August 1973) stating that records of Model 1866s below serial number 125,000 have not been found.
