Description:

1) Naval officer's sword, 35 inches overall with a 30 inch blade, 22 inch false edge, and light engraving. The hilt is gilt brass, with hand-engraved fouled anchors on the languets, a sculpted lion head pommel, and a brass wire wrapped ivory grip. The hilt is good, with strong gold finish, well aged brass, and a few minor chips and cracks in the grip, which shows fine grain. The blade is in relic condition. 2) Naval officer's sword, 34 1/4 inches overall with a 30 inch unmarked double edged blade. The gilt brass hilt bears raised "crown/fouled anchor" designs on the languetsa lion head design on the pommel, and a wire wrapped snakeskin grip. Fair, with a mixed brown and gray patina on the blade, a welded repair to the knuckleguard and a few hints of glue on the grip.
