Manufactured c. 1857 to 1864. This rifle is marked with the one line address on the top strap, 1857 patent marking on the left side of the frame, and "56 CAL" on the small conventional trigger guard. It has a short forend without wedge, stepped all round barrel, and a filler screw in the upper tang.
