Description:

Manufactured circa 1864. Henry rifles saw use both as government issued and private purchased weapons during the Civil War and were the most advanced firearms of their time. Most firearms historians believe that the vast majority of Henry rifles made before 1865 were privately purchased by individual federal soldiers, and they were known to be particularly popular with soldiers in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky regiments. The iconic Henry rifle proved the utility of repeating arms and paved the way for Winchester's iconic line of lever actions.
