Description:

This Third Model variant was manufactured in 1871. The Model 1866 was Winchester's first firearm and was essentially an improved version of the Henry rifle with a forend, solid magazine tube, and loading gate. "Yellow Boys" were carried to the West by thousands of frontiersmen and settlers and were popular due to their large capacity, reliability, and accuracy. They also found their way to Native American warriors and twenty or more were used against Custer and his men at Little Bighorn.
