The barrel is fitted with a German silver front blade sight and a ladder rear sight. The top barrel flat is marked "HENRY'S PAT.OCT.16.1860/MANUFACT'D BY THE NEWHAVEN ARMS CO. NEWHAVEN. CT." (weak) ahead of the rear sight and the serial number stamped behind the rear sight. The rifle has the distinctive brass receiver and buttplate, and octagon barrel with integral 15-shot magazine. There is a sling loop on the left side of the barrel and a sling swivel on the left side of the stock. Mounted with a smooth oil finished walnut stock with a brass buttplate with compartment (cleaning rod not included).
