Entering the knife trade circa 1973, E.D. Brignardelli was a member of the Knifemaker's Guild, and later retired to member emeritus status before passing on in 1999. Though these two knives are not marked or numbered as a pair, they show a very large number of connected features; both are fitted with hollow ground true edges, "Brignardelli" on one side of the ricassos and a 5-pointed star on the reverse, thick nickel guards with octagonal quillions, full length/thickness spines with filed and filled decorations, smooth contoured hardwood grips with nickel pines and a floral engraved silver panel on the left scales, and brown leather sheathes with lightly tooled decoration. Both are excellent with some light spotting and handling marks. 1) Spear point dagger, 14" overall with a 9" blade. 2) Bowie knife, 13 7/8" overall with an 8 3/4" blade and a 4 1/2" false edge.
