This is a unique example of a World War II production "42" dated military contract Luger pistol that was pulled and reproofed as a Mauser commercial contract Luger pistol. The left side of the barrel extension has the rare "Crown/U" commercial contract proofmarks, and the right side has the standard military Mauser "eagle/135" Waffenamt proof, which is also stamped on the barrel. The front toggle has the correct "byf" wartime Mauser code with the correct "P08" frame markings. It has the all blued finish and checkered walnut grips and comes with one all blued "fxo" marked magazine with the unmarked black plastic base.
