The lot includes four push daggers or "gambler's knives" with sheaths. The largest features a sterling silver sheath. Three of the blades are marked "F. BOYD/S.F.", and the fourth is marked "BOYD & FIREMAN/SAN FRANCISCO". The smallest knife features an abalone handle with a silver and gold sheath. Boyd is a contemporary knife and swordsmith in the San Franciso area. A copy of the book "Knifemakers of Old San Francisco" by Bernard R. Levine is also included. Knives are very fine with some handling marks and light freckling on the exposed tangs and an aging patina to the silvered sheaths.
