Description:

Manufactured in 1896. The barrel has a bulge. The Model 1873 and the .44-40 W.C.F. cartridge were so intrinsically linked to the American frontier that Colt, Merwin & Hulbert, and other companies called their .44-40 chambered revolvers names like the "Frontier Six Shooter" and "Frontier Army" revolvers. A man armed with a Winchester carbine like this and a revolver in the same caliber was well-equipped for whatever the West could throw at him.
