Description:

The fit of the side plate in conjunction with the exposed sear has always been a safety weakness in Lugers. This experimental design appears to counter that weakness by the installation of a two-piece side plate. A machined/milled slot through the side of the upper half of the side plate uses some form of key safety to fire the pistol. This key safety will depress the sear bar and allow the pistol to fire. The pistol cannot be fired unless you have this small safety key (not included) inserted into the side plate. The barrel is not rifled, most likely because the pistol was intended for demonstration purposes of the safety mechanism.
