Description:

Manufactured in 1878. Cody letter verifies the gun was originally a carbine and was fitted with an octagon barrel (length not listed) on December 3, 1878, and that it was shipped in order number 14174 on December 17, 1878. It also has a research letter in reference to the changing of carbine barrels in the 17000 to 35000 range and those without barrel lengths noted in the 17834 to 22249 serial number range.
