Description:

Lot consists of two arrangements in glass-topped display cases. 1) Luftwaffe grouping, Pilot-Observer Badge ("JMME" on rear), breast eagle (alloy, "A" on rear), and the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (marked "800" and "L/26" on rear, with case and ribbon. Included with the cross is a "preliminary" style award certificate, addressed to a Hauptmann Eric Koehl of the Luftwaffe's 52nd Fighter Wing (JG52), dated December 8, 1941. Active in Operation Barbarossa, Nazi Germany's big push into Soviet Russia, JG52 scored over 850 air-to-air kills between June 22nd and December 5th of 1941, and over the course of the war scored over 10,000 kills, a record that stands to this day. 2) Fine set of Land Customs equipment, including a WKC dagger (green leather and aged silver-plated brass furniture, good), silver bullion embroidered shoulder patch, and a set of shoulder boards and collar tabs.
