Description:

1) American 1860 light cavalry sword, 40 3/4" OAL, 34 3/4" nickel plated blade, brass hilt. Grip wrap lost. Attributed as the weapon of one James W. Faulkner, Confederate cavalryman and Captain with the 1st Battalion Florida Special Cavalry, later carried for veteran's association parades. 2) Horstmann & Sons sword, 38 1/2" OAL, 33 1/4" etched quillback blade with "CT" panel, American patriotic scenes, and a Solingen maker's mark, iron two-branch guard, sharkskin guard, and iron scabbard. The scabbard is inscribed to a Major Henry Lawson, January of 1864; consignor-supplied information implies that Lawson was an officer with the 1st Alabama Cavalry Regiment (Union). Good. 3) American light cavalry sword (possibly Providence Tool), 40 1/2" OAL, 34 1/2" blade, wire wrapped leather grip, brass hilt marked "34 K 1STALA". Fair. 4) Jennings Templar sword, 38 1/4" OAL, 31" etched blade, brass hilt, bone grip, nickel scabbard. Fair. 5) Bunting sword, 36 1/2" OAL, 31 1/4" blade, brass hilt, nickel scabbard. Rough. 6) Luneschloss sword, 37" OAL, 31 3/4" etched blade, brass hilt, wire wrapped grip, iron/brass scabbard. Rough. With consignor notes attributing as the field-carried weapon of a Gettysburg veteran. 7) American officers sword, 36" OAL, 30 1/4" etched blade, brass hilt, sharkskin grip, leather/brass scabbard. Good. 8) B. Pasquale dress sword, 35 1/2" OAL, 30" etched blade, brass hilt, leather grip, iron scabbard. Blade fair, scabbard rough. 9) Theatrical sword, 31 1/2" OAL, 25" blade, brass hilt with faux gems, treated canvas scabbard, inscribed to a H.A. Wentworth from the "Good Intent Dramatic Association" (possibly Pittsburgh-based) on June 10, 1865. 10) Unmarked sword, 35" OAL, 29 1/2" clip point flat spine blade, brass guard, wood/leather grip. Rough.
