This is the artist who knew Lincoln personally and cast this life image of Lincoln showing Lincoln with a pensive frown as he was to face the horrors of his future presidency. Volck did many images of Lincoln throughout the president's lifetime including the famous "Death Mask of Lincoln" and the "Proclamation of Emancipation". Dimensions - Ht: 12", W: 7"on a 4x4" beveled marble plinth, weight: 15lbs. The bronze is signed on one side ALV Studios and the other side LW Volk. On the back of the bronze it is inscribed - Abraham Lincoln / Modeled from Life / Leonard Volk 1860". Very good.
