This system was developed in the 1880s by Christiano Arturo Juan Antonio de Heeren y Massa in Paris, France. It is estimated that no more than 200 of the original Heeren System actions were produced prior to WWI, and most were presented to royalty throughout Europe. After WWI and again after WWII, Heeren System rifles were manufactured by W. Glaser in Zurich, Switzerland.
