Manufactured in 1850. The Second Model Dragoon revolvers are one of the rarest of the Colt percussion revolvers; just an estimated 2,700 were manufactured. They are hard to come by in any condition. They retain the squareback trigger guard first famously used on Walker and incorporate the more advanced rectangular style cylinder stops that became the standard and are used on Colt revolvers into the present day. Additional more subtle improvements include a different mainspring and a roller on the hammer. It remains a hefty and very impressive early Colt revolver variation.
