Description:

Includes a letter from Joe Scarpa indicating the revolver was found near the Petersburg Battlefield in 1949 by construction contractor Frank Wright and later purchased by Scarpa from Paul Reenan at the Richmond Gun Show. The pike is good and has gray patina and mild pitting, a 12 3/4" blade, a roughly 5 1/2" tang, and a brass ferrule. It is marked with a label saying it was a Richmond pike brought home by Major George W. Ford of the 50th New York Engineers, Medal of Honor recipient for capturing Confederate colors at Sailor's Creek (west of Petersburg, the last major action before Lee's surrender). Also includes a case for the items with an unrelated shot target and modern Confederate battle flag.
